This year's annual reunion is just around the corner! We hope you've received your invitation and are making plans to attend.
Our theme this year is “Love Can Build a Bridge” in recognition of all the hard work that has been poured into Burnsville's swinging bridge over the past few months. The 2023 reunion classes end in 3 and 8 (1948, 1953, 1958, 1963, 1968, etc.). The weekend activities will take place on Friday, May 26 and Saturday, May 27, 2023.
The schedule is as follows:
Friday, May 26
5:00 p.m. Friday Night Cookout on the Football Field
Saturday, May 27
11:00 a.m.- noon Kanawha Alumni Parade to the Football Field Stage (Line up at 10:30 a.m.)
Baptist women will be selling concessions at the pavilion following the parade.
4:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Burnsville School & Alumni Center Open House
5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Annual Business Meeting in Auditorium
6:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Auction (donated items are appreciated; proceeds help fund future scholarships)
6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Dinner (see note below for seating information)
9:00 p.m. Prerecorded classic hits & socialization
There is also still time to participate in the parade. Every class is welcome to enter a float, car, or side-by-side and we also welcome bands, ball teams, twirlers, civic groups, pageant winners, emergency vehicles, and more - contact Karlena Boyce at (304) 689-1294 or e-mail at karlenaboyce@gmail.com to sign up.
The dinner menu this year will include baked steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, and hot roll. Reservations are due by Friday, May 12 to get the correct number of steaks. We cannot guarantee everyone a meal if you don’t send back your form. All reunion classes will be seated in the gymnasium. If you plan to come in to visit with classmates and have not paid for a meal, we are asking for a $5 donation at the door; this will help us monitor who is in the building and for security purposes when we close the building for the evening. This money will be used for scholarships.
